How to change DNS records at Enom

Tucows-owned registrar, widely used as a reseller back end.

Open the Enom control panel → Visit Enom

Where the DNS settings live

  1. Sign in and open Domains → My Domains.
  2. Click the domain, then Host Records (sometimes under "DNS Settings").

Adding a record

  1. Add a row: Host Name (@ for the root), Record Type, Address.
  2. Click Save.

Editing or deleting a record

  1. Change the row and save; clear the row and save to delete.

Changing the nameservers

  1. Open Name Servers for the domain, choose custom, and enter them.

These are the values you would set at your registrar to let Enom run your DNS. Always confirm them in your own account — several providers assign per-account values.

  • dns1.name-services.com
  • dns2.name-services.com

Gotchas at Enom

  • Enom offers "URL Redirect" and "Frame Redirect" as pseudo record types — they are not DNS.
  • If you bought through a reseller, you may need to use the reseller's panel instead.

After you save

DNS changes are not instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere — occasionally longer if an ISP ignores TTLs. Check what the world currently sees before assuming something is broken, and see the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
