Where the DNS settings live
- Sign in to the Gandi admin and open Domain.
- Click the domain, then the DNS Records tab.
Adding a record
- Click Add record.
- Fill in the name, type, TTL and value, then Create.
- Advanced users can switch to edit the zone file and paste BIND-format records directly.
Editing or deleting a record
- Use the pencil icon to edit or the bin to delete on each row.
Changing the nameservers
- Open the Nameservers tab, choose External, and enter the servers.
Gotchas at Gandi
- Gandi keeps zone snapshots — you can roll back a bad change from the DNS Records screen.
- LiveDNS is the current platform; older accounts may still be on the classic zone system.
After you save
DNS changes aren't instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere. Use the Route Planner's live check to see what the world sees, and the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
