Where the DNS settings live
- Sign in and open the domain from your control panel.
- Click the DNS tab.
Adding a record
- Click Add a Record.
- Choose the type, enter the hostname (
@for the root) and value. - Click Add Record.
Editing or deleting a record
- Click Edit on the record, change it, save. Delete is on the same row.
Changing the nameservers
- Open the domain, click Nameservers → Edit, and enter the new ones.
Gotchas at Hover
- Hover pre-populates parking records on new domains — remove them before going live.
After you save
DNS changes aren't instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere. Use the Route Planner's live check to see what the world sees, and the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
