How to change DNS records at InMotion Hosting

US host with cPanel and its own Account Management Panel (AMP).

Open the InMotion Hosting control panel → Visit InMotion Hosting

Where the DNS settings live

  1. Sign in to AMP.
  2. Open Domains, click the domain, then DNS Manager — or use cPanel → Zone Editor.

Adding a record

  1. Click Add Record, choose type, enter name and value, and save.

Editing or deleting a record

  1. Use Edit on the row to change a record, or Delete to remove it.

Changing the nameservers

  1. In AMP open the domain and edit Nameservers, then save.

InMotion Hosting nameservers

These are the values you would set at your registrar to let InMotion Hosting run your DNS. Always confirm them in your own account — several providers assign per-account values.

  • ns.inmotionhosting.com
  • ns2.inmotionhosting.com

Gotchas at InMotion Hosting

  • Zone changes can take a few hours to appear on InMotion nameservers.

After you save

DNS changes are not instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere — occasionally longer if an ISP ignores TTLs. Check what the world currently sees before assuming something is broken, and see the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
