Where the DNS settings live
- Sign in to MyKinsta.
- Open DNS in the sidebar and select the domain, or WordPress Sites → site → Domains.
Adding a record
- On the DNS screen click Add a DNS record.
- Choose the type, enter the hostname and content, then Add DNS record.
Editing or deleting a record
- Use the three-dot menu on the record → Edit or Delete.
Changing the nameservers
- Adding a domain to Kinsta DNS gives you four nameservers — set those at your registrar.
- Alternatively skip Kinsta DNS and just point an A record at the IP shown under the site's Domains tab.
Gotchas at Kinsta
- Kinsta DNS and your registrar's DNS are mutually exclusive — whichever the nameservers point at wins.
- Kinsta gives a site-specific IP; do not reuse an IP from another Kinsta site.
After you save
DNS changes aren't instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere. Use the Route Planner's live check to see what the world sees, and the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
